The Canadian Solar 50 kW three-phase string inverter is a high-performance, grid-tied, transformer-less inverter designed for commercial and industrial (C&I) scale solar installations. It’s engineered to maximize energy yield, deliver high conversion efficiency, and support flexible and robust solar string architectures.
This inverter is ideal for rooftop systems or small/medium ground-mount solar plants where reliability, durability, and cost-effectiveness are critical. The design focuses on modular string-inverter architecture rather than a heavy central inverter, delivering easier installation, simplified servicing, and scalable system
The illustration demonstrates the basic setup of the Deye 5kW Hybrid Inverter.
It also shows additional components required for a fully functional system, including:
– Generator or grid power
– PV (solar) modules
Please consult your system integrator for alternative system designs based on your specific requirements.
This inverter is capable of powering a wide range of household or office appliances, including motor-driven devices such as refrigerators and air conditioners.
For safe operation and regulatory compliance, a dedicated DC over-current protector or disconnect device must be installed between the battery and the Deye 5kW Hybrid Inverter. In certain applications, a disconnect or switching device may not be necessary, but over-current protection is still required.
Follow the steps below when connecting the battery:
Select a suitable battery cable with the correct connector that properly fits the battery terminals.
Use an appropriate screwdriver to loosen the terminal bolts, insert the battery connectors, and then tighten the bolts securely. Ensure they are fastened to a torque of 5.2 N·m in a clockwise direction.
Verify that the polarity is correctly matched on both the battery and the inverter.
Ensure the inverter connector is fully tightened to its waterproof position by turning it clockwise.
Install a dedicated AC breaker between the inverter and the grid, and another between the inverter and the backup load. This ensures safe isolation during maintenance and protects against over-current.
For 3.6/5kW models, use a 32A–40A breaker for the backup load and a 40A breaker for the grid.
Before wiring the Grid, Load, and Gen ports, turn off all AC breakers. Strip 10 mm of insulation, loosen the terminal bolts, insert wires according to the polarity labels, and tighten securely. Ensure N and PE wires are connected to the correct terminals.
Do not mix up the “Grid,” “Load,” and “GEN” terminals.
Air conditioners need a 2–3 minute restart delay to protect internal components. If power returns too quickly and the unit has no built-in delay, the inverter may trip into overload or the air conditioner may be damaged.
Install a PV Combiner / Protection box between the Deye 5kw inverter and PV modules. It is very important for system safety and efficient operation
Use appropriate cable for PV module connections – Use 4mm – 6mm solar cable.
When selecting PV modules, please be sure to consider below parameters:
The CT Clamp needs to be installed at the correct location
Temperature sensor used with Lead Acid batteries
DC_Inversed_Failure
DC_Inversed_Failure
GFDI Relay Failure
DC_START_Failure
AC over current fault of hardware
DC over current fault of hardware
